Introduction to the Colour Coding System
The Colour Coding System (CCS) assigns colours to cleaning products and tools, clearly defining their appropriate areas of use. It is an effective and straightforward system that prevents cross-contamination and the spread of infections between surfaces, thereby ensuring hygienic cleanliness in various spaces.
Goals
and benefits
- Minimises the risk of infection transmission and surface contamination within individual rooms.
- Colour coding facilitates the correct selection of cleaning tools based on area and purpose.
- efficient and straightforward cleaning
Colour coding
based on the cleaning area
The Colour Coding System divides cleaning into four main areas: general, sanitary, kitchen, and washing.
Each of these areas is assigned specific tools, such as cloths, buckets, mops, and gloves, which are colour-coded according to their intended use. This ensures efficiency and adherence to hygiene standards during cleaning.
Implementation of Equipment and Additional Tools
As part of our professional cleaning product offerings, we also provide cleaning equipment that aligns with the colour coding concept.
Multi-purpose trolleys, cleaning tools, and other technical equipment are colour-coded to simplify and clearly define their purpose of use.
Training
and Consultation
To raise awareness of proper cleaning practices for specific areas in combination with the correct selection of cleaning products, we offer training for cleaning staff in the hospitality and catering industries.
We also provide advisory and consulting services aimed at improving efficiency, simplifying processes, and reducing the economic costs of cleaning and maintaining operational spaces.
Colour coding for individual areas
General
area
General surfaces – furniture and stationary surfaces, offices, communal spaces, and other areas, including all equipment and furnishings, as well as floors, mirrors, and all glass surfaces.
Kitchen
area
All kitchen surfaces – preparation zones, dining areas, serving trolleys, worktops, serving and retail spaces, kitchen equipment, including appliances and other devices.
Sanitary
area
High risk surfaces – toilets/urinals, bidets, sanitary ceramics, bathrooms, tiles, fixtures, taps, and other hygienic equipment.
Washing
area
Low-risk surfaces – bathrooms, shower areas, sinks, bathtubs, tiles, floors, washrooms, pools, saunas, water taps, chrome parts, and accessories.
Disinfection
area
All areas of application – disinfection of all hard and touch surfaces where perfect hygienic cleanliness is required. Virucidal, bactericidal, and fungicidal effects help prevent the spread of infections and contamination.
Special
area
Surfaces and areas requiring special care – cleaning stainless steel surfaces and accessories, deep cleaning of floors, scenting of communal spaces, and localised stain removal from textile surfaces.
